2022-2023 Call for BYTOWN MUSEUM Board of Directors
MUSÉE BYTOWN MUSEUM is a vibrant, successful and progressive community museum in the heart of Ottawa, Ontario – the capital of Canada. It is a registered charity, non-for-profit organization, and an equal opportunity employer. The Museum is celebrating its 105th Anniversary in 2022.
Joining MUSÉE BYTOWN MUSEUM is an opportunity to work with a team of dedicated staff and volunteer Directors of the Board and build on the Museum’s recent success. Over the last 10 years, we’ve increased attendance. We are proactively digitizing the collection and have over 6,000 records uploaded for public access. We have an active Youth Council that is featured in the Province of Ontario’s Grade 8 History textbook. We offer recognized curriculum based school programs and popular public programming throughout the year. We have proactive virtual programming.
The Museum is guided by a future oriented Strategic Plan that focuses on modern collection management, public access to its information, youth programming, promoting the multi-cultural history and character of Ottawa and fundraising.
