Current Exhibition Forged In fire – The Building and Burning of Parliament

From Barrack Hill to the Nation’s Capital to the devastating fire of 1916, the history of Parliament Hill has been one of change, intrigue and national identity. Our new temporary exhibition, Forged in Fire: The Building and Burning of Parliament explores the history of the site and the buildings that have called it home throughout its evolution.

Featuring unique artefacts and photographs from the BYTOWN MUSEUM collection, including rare images of the construction of Parliament by early Ottawa photographer Elihu Spencer, this exhibition is not to be missed!

Forged in Fire: The Building and Burning of Parliament, marks the 100th anniversary of the fire of Parliament, will be on display at the BYTOWN MUSEUM from January 29, 2016 through to October 31, 2016.
