The BYTOWN MUSEUM Youth Council (YoCo) is a group of students from high schools, universities, and colleges across Ottawa who have come together to explore Ottawa’s history. Their mission is to promote the city’s fascinating past, through their motto “for youth, by youth.” They share stories about Ottawa from its beginnings as a rough-and-tumble Bytown through to its rise as the nation’s capital. They reach out to their peers and fellow Ottawans through blog posts, videos, contests, and events.
YoCo is a program for youth, developed by youth that encourages youth to explore and share Ottawa’s history! Work collaboratively and brainstorm with others as you work on projects designed and organized by Youth Council Members. Attend training workshops and professional development opportunities, and learn what it is like to be part of a team in a museum setting!
Are you 16 – 25 years old and interested in Ottawa and its history? The BYTOWN MUSEUM’s Youth Council, also known as YoCo, is looking for Youth Council Members like you!
